I’m Writing an Advice Column. Ask Me Something Weird and Specific…

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a thousand different things depending on the day. Some of them made sense. Some of them were just hyperfixations in disguise. But through all the shifting interests and costume changes, a few constants stuck: I wanted to be my Aunt Sandy. I wanted to be Catwoman. And I really, truly wanted to be an advice columnist.

I don’t know why advice columns sparked so much joy in me, but they always have—and that spark never went away. I’ve always been a writer, even when I didn’t know what kind. And now I finally get to be the kind who gets to say, “That sounds hard. Let’s figure it out together.”

So I’ve decided that I’m writing a monthly advice column—possibly titled Dear Cami (working title, we’ll see what sticks). It’s for neurodivergent folks—and the people who love us, live with us, or just can’t quite figure us out. I’m just doing it.

Whether you’re trying to make sense of burnout, sensory overwhelm, masking fatigue, relationship weirdness, or existential dread brought on by workplace small talk… you can ask me anything.*

And by “anything,” I mean within my specified field of interest, which mostly includes neurodivergence, boundaries, identity, social nuance, overstimulation, people-pleasing, the injustice of pants with buttons, and how to live in a world not designed for our brains. You get the idea.

👉 Submit your question here

You can stay anonymous, use a pseudonym, or share your name—whatever feels right. You can also let me know if you’re open to a follow-up email in case I need clarification. No pressure either way.

🕰️ Deadline to be considered for the first column is Thursday, July 24.

📬 Questions submitted after that will still be considered for future columns.

🗞️ The first column will appear August 7 in a brand-new publication released by Gal Pal Productions.

Let’s go looking together.

Disclaimer:

Dear Cami is an advice column, not therapy. I’m not a mental health professional—just an autistic, ADHD-having person sharing thoughts based on lived experience, curiosity, and a whole lot of trial and error. This column isn’t a substitute for professional help, but I’ll always approach your question with care, honesty, and respect.
