when there’s nothing else

In my life I have been accused more times than I care to count of not having any.

I try not to take it personally. I try not to cringe at the thought of a person’s mind being so narrowed that they believe that I lack all faith simply because I don’t share theirs.

Faith is sometimes all we have.

sometimes all I have.

Faith in myself, in my abilities, my beliefs.

Faith in my child

my husband.

my parents.

I have it in spades… it just may not be the same as yours.

This post was written in response to David’s question on Weekend Wandering; How strong is your faith?

If you’d like to answer this in a post on your own blog please link back to his Weekend Wandering post and leave him a comment to let him know.

I love this babe, and you are so right. If we don’t have Faith in ourselves, what’s the point in any other.I was brought up catholic and cos I don’t go to church anymore my dad just doesn’t get that you can have faith of any kind that is totally yours alone. He’s weird like that.

i also love this. i love that people think that just cuz they think something is great, you must also have it.wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same? of course, some of us are much less same than others….

Hey, whatever turns you pink just tickles me plum to death, I think everyone should be free to believe whatever they want as long as it harms none. Off the subject, I just saw your toilet bowl lip gloss. Let me say my daughter would love that and if you are ever in seaside there is a candy shop that sells toilet bowl and plunger lick-um sticks.

Quite. It means what it means to each of us. It’s quite limiting isn’t it, that question, a bit like Is There Life On Mars? Well, whose definition of life are we talking about, the one we know on earth or something else we’ve no knowledge of yet, but which sustains moving, freethinking beings of some sort?

That is an incredibly powerful and honest post. I love it. Although I have a faith in a Creator, I also have a faith in many other things, as you list. And I think you have encapsulated the whole theme perfectly here. Thank you for this.Over from David’s btw.

I really like this post. Faith is a funny thing, impossible to pin down. I think you got very much to the heart of it.
