Oh my god. Why do things have to be so difficult?
Why on earth can’t the child (as she is now being referred to because I can not see past my own annoyance to even think of her name let alone say it) just eat something? Do something? Use the bathroom? Inhale air without it being a huge production?
Also, as wonderful as they smelled those baked potatoes I made for dinner? Did nothing for me. They were not made of sugar. They certainly did not taste like cherry coke.
Every time I want a cherry coke I drink a glass of water, except the two times I had a glass of iced tea. Do you have any idea how much time I’ve spent in the bathroom today? I peed like 72 times.
Also, and this is very irritating, I think anytime I make up a number? It has a 7 in it. Now I know that 7 is my favorite number but really… do I have to put it in EVERYTHING?
When I had lunch with my best friend today I was so lethargic I couldn’t even fight with her. I didn’t even make fun of her.
I’m having serious withdrawal symptoms too. And I had a glass of orange juice today… and I didn’t put any booze in it. I did it just because it was the only sweet thing in the house I could think of that I could have. It’s a good thing I didn’t remember the jar of honey, I might have guzzled it like that fat little fucker, Pooh Bear.
I think I’m losing my mind. This is worse than when I quit smoking… hopefully, it will be just as beneficial. Excuse me now while I go hide in a hole, that will greatly decrease my chances of killing someone who smiles at me or happens to be drinking a soda in a 10 mile radius.

Maybe Miss B can give you some of her insulin to tide you over?
Hmm… maybe a more gradual approach would be easier (and safer for those around you).
It’s going to be a good day when Pooh is a fucker before breakfast.
apparently, it also effects your memory.
didn’t fight with me at lunch? you kicked me 77 times!
also, you need to make friends with Ms. Splenda.
As a hardcore sugar addict, you have my deepest sympathy. One thing that sometimes helps me with water is squeezing a little lime into it (of course, you then have to resist putting in the rum, sugar and mint to complete the mojito). And sometimes diet soda helps me kick the soda habit entirely. ;-)
I’m so sorry. Regardless of what happens, there are better things in life than refined sugar. You’re daughter is awesome, your husband is hot, you’re an IgnitePortland presenter, and there’s stevia.
Have you heard of stevia? I don’t know if it’s your solution- certainly doesn’t replace Coke- but it’s a way to make sugar pot pie without sugar, without chemicals, with an all natural extract that is zero on the glycemic index.
Personally, I think it’s just a fluke, and your Dr. mixed up your labs. But just in case, I thought I’d throw that out there.
Wishing you the best.
Oooof.. I know all too well how hard it is to give up food/drinks you loooove.. I can barely eat anything other than rice cakes and lettuce right now, let alone drink coffee, soda, juice, tea anything fun..
But, if you’re having to cut out sugar, orange juice is WAY WAY worse than soda.. so be careful with how much of that you drink too! And yes, Splenda is so great if you can’t have sugar.. but now, I can’t even have that! :(
Oh goodness! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Usually they say if you can get through the first two weeks you’ll be ok. When I was semi following Atkins I found that my cravings really did die down after the two weeks.
Yikes. There are all kinds of things I’m not supposed to eat or drink due to really bad acid reflux, but I can’t seem to conjure the willpower to do so, despite constant discomfort and the threat of esophegeal cancer.
Ye gods, Cami, how horrid for you. I know – I had to do this once when I was pregnant. If I were you, I’d push for a second blood test as soon as possible, to confirm if there really is a problem. But at the same time, I suppose it could be good in the long run.
I am so sorry this is so hard. I know it sucks! I hope everyone around you makes it through alive.
Well Holl loves that Splendor stuff. Have you tried that? Sorry you’re having a sh*t time babe. It will Pass (because I have read the post after this so I know.)
hate that you’re going through some tough times- hopefully you’re sugar cravings will subside soon!
