the weather

by camikaos on November 7, 2008

Walking down the street a couple days ago bundled up in my wool coat and warm fuzzy boots with gloves on holding the hand of my shivering little girl on the way to her school in the morning, it occurred to me that October was much too early for it to be that fucking cold.

For me to be shivering in jeans, a sweater and a wool coat.  For me to feel chilled to the bone in warm fuzzy boots with my hands ensconced in yarn?

Then I realized it isn’t October anymore, it’s November.  Then it hit me that Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks… the winter holidays are just around the corner…

THE END OF THE YEAR IS NIGH!!!!!

I don’t know how it snuck up on me like this.  How we reached the end of the year so quickly.  Did I step into some time loop and get strung up by my clock?  I feel like the sky is falling.

I hope it doesn’t land in my soup.

Sky Falling Soup? It could work. Obviously I will need the recipe.

Yep, it’s creeping up fast. And have fun with Chris.

Boy it did creep up fast this year. But then again, I cancelled Christmas this year, so it doesn’t really matter, I guess.

It’s crazy bc I’ve been thinking the exact opposite! It’s still in the 80’s here and I’m wondering when in the hell it’s going to cool off!

I know, it’s crazy. It will be 2009 in a little over fifty days!

I am looking forward to a new year. You know why?
Because after the New Year comes February.
And then March, which is Oscar’s birthday month AND the month I expect to welcome this already giant baby in my womb.
I’ll let you hold it when it comes out.
RIGHT when it comes out.
You like vernix, right?

You know, I thought is was warmer today. But maybe I’m just getting used to the bitter cold. Dare to dream…
